On 2 December 2011 Carola Schwennsen, managing director of Fachausstellungen Heckmann GmbH, Hannover, and chairwoman of FAMA – the Association of Fairs and Exhibitions, was elected second deputy chairperson of FKM, the Society for Voluntary Control of Fair and Exhibition Statistics.
Ms. Schwennsen succeeds Johann Fuchsgruber, who gave up his post as second deputy chairman as he is no longer managing director of Messe Erfurt. FKM’s chairman remains Wolfgang Marzin, who is chief executive officer of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. The first deputy chairman is Egon Galinnis, who is managing director of Messe Essen GmbH.
63 German organisers and two foreign guest members from Hong Kong and Verona belong to FKM. FKM certifies the exhibitor, display area, visitor attendance and visitor breakdown statistics for trade fairs according to a uniform set of rules.
