If exhibitors are planning new participations or want to check their existing portfolio, they need reliable data on the quality of individual exhibitions. An important source of this information is the certified exhibition data of the FKM – the German Society for Voluntary Control of Fair and Exhibition Statistics, which has just released its annual report for 2018.
The visitor and exhibitor statistics, as well as visitor analyses for the previous year, have been determined based on established standards and are also available online at this website, along with data for many exhibitions in the first half of 2019.
Upon publication of the annual report, FKM Chairman Klaus Dittrich explained: “Only in rare cases do exhibitors make emotional decisions on whether to participate in exhibitions. Instead, reliable data on the quality of an exhibition is relevant. In Germany, this data is provided by the FKM.”
In total last year, 46 German event organisers – members of the FKM – had 191 exhibitions in Germany certified by auditors Ernst & Young. In addition to basic data such as stand space and exhibitor and visitor numbers – both foreign and domestic – the FKM offers data for 141 exhibitions relating to the structure of trade and private visitors, such as regional origin, influence on purchasing decisions and professional status.
Alongside the German members, the two foreign guest members, the Verona Exhibition Company and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, had 20 exhibitions certified.
